National Human Trafficking Intelligence Center

The National Human Trafficking Intelligence Center (NHTIC) is a division of ATI that partners with the state and federal government. We enhance efficiency and communication between law enforcement agencies to increase the speed and accuracy of intercepting traffickers. Our goal is to catch criminals faster to keep your kids safe.

- An innovative and effective human and technology-based solution to improve the pace of the international, national, regional, and local response to human trafficking
- Provide coordination between Federal, State and Local efforts that improves information sharing among related efforts
- A centralized repository for up-to-date, vetted information relative to human trafficking (public and law enforcement sensitive)
- Assist localities as they adopt best-in-class programs to combat human trafficking
- Identify regional hot spots for human trafficking, new trends and methods, victim and offender
- Respond quickly to real-time threats and movements of known or suspected traffickers
- Provide law enforcement access to analytical tools and resources that are not readily available in most agencies, like preventive analytics that can help provide a clearer picture of the issue
- Serve as a force-multiplier to law enforcement operations to interdict, dismantle and prosecute human trafficking networks, as well as to rescue and recover victims
- Present informed responses to human trafficking protection, prevention, and prosecution
Law enforcement are critical in eradicating human trafficking; however, their resources are stretched thin. Police departments are facing increased responsibilities, reduced budgets and extreme public scrutiny. They’re adapting to modern threats and concerns, and they need the tools to effectively do this.
One of the most valuable tools for law enforcement in effectively addressing the complex crime of human trafficking is the use of real-time actionable intelligence. However, this intelligence requires a significant workforce and comes at a substantial cost. These two factors make this type of intelligence inaccessible to many law enforcement agencies. Additionally, even if the agency has the resources, they lack the ability to see a comprehensive picture of a trafficker’s movement beyond their jurisdiction. NHTIC changes this.
NHTIC is designed to establish a team of trained and specialized intelligence analysts who proactively seek out, collect, and analyze intelligence relative to traffickers operating within the United States. These analysts then share this intelligence with the appropriate state and federal law enforcement agencies so that they react and recover more victims and prosecuting the offenders. To prove the effectiveness of the methodology, ATI conducted a 40-hour testing period. In just 40-hours with one analyst, NHTIC was able to identify and direct law enforcement to three victims of human trafficking. NHTIC is an overdue game changer in the fight to stop human trafficking quickly and efficiently.
